Whole Armor of God
Ephesians 6: 17 ESV “and take the helmet of salvation,…”
In the military, a good helmet can often mean the difference between life and death. It protects its wearer from certain attacks that could bring harm. To receive the free gift (aka helmet) of salvation is to be released from the bondage of sin and its harmful consequences. Jesus Christ, who was without sin, voluntarily paid the ultimate price of sin by being crucified on the cross so that we might have eternal life if we believe in Him. The consequence we deserve is death, but Jesus Christ stood in for us out of His great love. So wear the free helmet of salvation with great pride and conviction that Jesus Christ has released us from the bondage of sin and fear.
