I have been listening to the BEMA podcast (https://www.bemadiscipleship.com/) for about a year now. It all started with wanting to gain a deeper understanding of the Hebrew / Jewish perspective of the Old Testament. I want to personally thank Marty Solomon and Brent Billings for delivering.
Where the New Testament, which was written in Greek, has a simple message of Love God and Love Others. The Old Testament, written in Hebrew and Aramaic, also has a simple message: Live the life of Empire, or live the life of Shalom. Empire represents a life seeking physical comforts, but is also associated with fear, deception, and coercion. Shalom represents a life of joy and peace. It is associated with faith, humility, and obedience to the God that created the universe.
If you are tired of spinning your wheels, feeling numb, or living in fear, I want to personally challenge you to listen to a small portion of this podcast. The first few podcasts introduces you to a knew way of thinking and understanding. It may also lead you to the path of hope and joy.
